Who is Royal Coils Pythons anyway?

My name is Tiffany.

Like pretty much every reptile keeper these days, I got hooked as a kid. My 12th birthday brought me my very first snake, a Normal Male whom I affectionately dubbed Amber since I had no clue he was a Male at the time. Oh how far I have come since those days.

We All Make Mistakes

Beginner's of any hobby try their best to do what they think is right, but let's be honest. Most of us were pretty lost when we first started. Looking at "Amber", now Gemini, I compare to how he was kept in those early years and wonder how he made it. Since then, I have been very lucky to have been mentored by several successful, larger scale Ball Python breeders. It is now my goal to pass that knowledge on to my customers, so they can avoid all the parts Gemini somehow survived through. Give them the best start to a very long friendship with their animal.

The State of the Hobby Now

The keeping and breeding Ball Pythons has exploded in a way that I can't imagine anyone could have predicted. It's exciting to think of how many people out there appreciate these guys as much as I do! But, with popularity comes problems. Pet stores across the country sell them with the "recipe for disaster" kits and less than scrupulous breeders will power feed and over breed to pump out as many babies as possible. This isn't right. This species is known to reach 40 years of age, and yet I see so many perish from neglect within their first year.

They Deserve Better

Comparing reptile breeding and sales practices to well-bred purebred animals, I saw an opportunity to change the way we think about these animals. Royal Coils Pythons exists to treat it's animals like the Royalty they're named after. The health of my breeders are given top priority over egg production. Babies are very well established before leaving my care. All buyers of RCP animals are thoroughly vetted to ensure that my animals will continued to be properly cared for in their new homes. If that process loses me a sale, so be it.

What you're getting from RCP:

An exceptional animal, produced by a Veterinary Medical Professional who cares more about your new pet's wellbeing than making any profit from their purchase.

Seriously, that's why I do it. I just enjoy working with them and seeing the strange ways that genetics interact. I've never made enough profit to ever make up for what I've spent on maintaining my collection and producing babies and I probably never will. Fine by me :)
